Special Notice On Saturday, August 2nd at 4PM, Humane Animal Control will be setting traps on the grounds of the Club to collect the feral cats, have them sterilized and vaccinated and then returned to the club grounds. The traps will be collected at 11AM on Sunday and Monday. This is the most humane treatment available and though the cats will still be with us, at least they won’t be producing more cats and they will be vaccinated. A pair of unsterilized cats and their kittens can produce as many as 420,000 kittens in just seven years! The theory is that these cats, who have been living on the club grounds, will keep other cats from moving in to their territory so hopefully the population will stabilize. None of the animals will be euthanized unless it turns out that its health is beyond rescue. There are also several kittens which may be put up for adoption if they are too young to sterilize. Please do not touch the traps. |
